When I would hear people discuss tragedies in their lives or in the lives of others, I would inwardly shudder and say to myself that I could never handle anything of that sort. This year the Lord showed me that I could indeed handle it and would have to do it with the strength that only He could give. As you read in a previous post Mariah has been kicked twice this year by two different horses and was hospitalized with the second one. My Grandmother was hospitalized with complications with her heart, and Myles Truth was in NICU for a couple of days after birth due to a pneumo thorax (hole in his lung that happened during the birth). When we finally thought our life was going to slow down, my father and my two brothers Matthew and Malachi were in a car accident this past weekend. In the accident Matthew had to be cut out of the van and he and my father were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Malachi (age 3) had a broken leg but was able to be taken home as soon as he was pulled from the van. My dad had a broken nose lots of bruises and soreness, but was discharged quickly from the hospital. Matthew was hit directly and suffered from a severe concussion( he did not wake up till a couple of hours after the accident), broken collar bone, a hole in his lung, a bruised bowel and lung, broken teeth, and lots of gashes and scrapes.
When we received the phone call( we did not know if they were alive or not) I so badly wanted to scream and ask the Lord why He allowed yet another difficult trial in our lives. Just when I was about to inwardly snap the Lord showed me that I had to be strong not for myself but for those that surrounded me. That day our family had planned on a restful day at home and we were looking forward to a visit from my Aunt Kellie and three of our dear cousins. Though we planned the visit to be a time of fun fellowship, the Lord planned their visit as an encouragement to our family through a difficult time. My Aunt was strong for me, and her girls were a source of comfort and love as I waited for updates on my brothers condition. Thank you ladies!!!!
I am grateful to say that my whole family is now home together and those who are injured are beginning to mend. Praise the Lord! We are also so very grateful for the comfort our family and church family has extended through this difficult year.
Please keep our family in your prayers during this time of healing and getting back on our feet.
May God get the glory!

We are praying for your brothers and your dad that they will heal quickly and for the rest of you during this time!
Psalm 138:8
Oh McKenzie, how scary! You're right, it's so easy to ask those "why" questions when these kinds of things happen to us, but you proved yourself faithful and content to rest in God's presence in the midst of these trials.
Prayers for you and your family!! ~Leanna
McKenzie,
That would be a very scary thing to go through. I am glad everyone's okay and hope they continue to heal.

Good grief! I had no idea all of this happened. I'm so sorry that happened, but praise God for their overall safety. You're a strong young woman, McKenzie!

Thanks for the update. My family and I have been praying for your family a lot these past days! Thank the Lord everyone is safely at home. =) God bless you all! <3
Babe, I know you and the family have been through so much lately....but you have a strong family who believes in a STRONGER GOD. That is where your strength and peace comes from. I have been praying for you, and I knew you'd do fine! You're a strong young lady, and I know you stepped to the plate and have been a right arm to your mother. I pray that this week will be a very good week for all of you and that things will get back to a more normal routine. Know I love each and every one of you! Can't wait to get to hold that sweet boy again!
It is very comforting to know that All things work together for good for them that love the Lord. Even though it is hard to see that when all these things happen.
Praying for healing for your family.

Hi McKenzie...
It's Jewel K again. Sorry, I must admit that I have not been keeping up with your blog unfortunately. As soon as school started I got on the computer a lot less. :) I'm very sorry to hear that about your family, but I thought I should tell you that I prayed for you and your family to get well!
~God Bless,
