Just because I felt like dancing...

So, I am officially finished with my herbal program!!! I received my certificate in the mail last week! I can't begin to tell you how weird it feels to be done! :) Of course with anything you study you are
never finished learning, so I have begun reading a book written by a Christian herbalist (nice change from my other school books written by atheists!) that a dear friend loaned me.

Even though I am not in school anymore I am having no trouble keeping busy. I am homeschooling Malachi again this year and we are off to a great start! I am also Myles's official potty training coach! haha... He is doing well, but we have a long road ahead of us! I love my little brothers, they truly are the spice of my life!
Ever since my grandmother passed away in May, we have been struggling to discover what our "new normal" is. Every week my mom and some of us kiddos have been traveling to my grandfather's home to stay with him a night or two. My mom and one of her sisters have been working together to get the house cleaned out and ready to be sold. We are temporarily moving my grandfather to my aunt's rental house until we can sell his house. This has been such a long road for all of us and it is really strange that after we get him moved it will be over.... No more going to grandma and grandpa's house..... It is so strange how much life can change in just one years time.
Some tomatoes from the garden. Organic produce makes me smile!

I love cooking!

Oh and I thought I'd let you all know that I have had the opportunity to develop my skills as a veterinarian! One of my horses cut her leg open and I have had to keep her stalled and change bandages for over three weeks! This was right after her accident and I had just administered her first dose of medication! I believe I have most of her dosage down the front of my shirt. Farming really makes one beautiful!!!! :o)

Recently we were able to get my grandma's wedding gown from a distant relative. Of course I had to try it on!!!!! For being fifty years old it was in pretty decent shape. :)

Recently I was convicted at how horrid our pantry looked. One day recently while some of the family were to grandpa's house, I decided to organize it and I had a marvelous time!
Before...

And after.

Wishing you all a very lovely weekend!
*****Oh, and by the way, very soon I will be hosting a giveaway!!! Stay tuned for details. ;)

one of the beautiful traditions my family has is alowing the daughters to wear their grandmother's wedding gown. So I think it is beautiful seeing your grandmother's on you.
Thank you Jen! Your prayers are greatly appreciated. We miss her so much!
haha, I thought my "vet" pic was just too funny not to share!
Anonymous,
That is a neat tradition. My grandma's dress would need a good bit of work if one of us chose to wear it, though.
Hi McKenzie,
You look beautiful in your Grandma's dress! And I'm so proud of you for finishing your herbalist degree! I know that was a great feeling! Your black bean/corn/avocado/onion stuff looks great---can I have the recipe? That looks right up my alley! And when you have another free day, feel free to come organize my pantry!! It really needs it!
