For the last nine weeks I have been going to a Beth Moore Bible study on the book of Esther. I had never done one of her studies before, but have really enjoyed this one. It has challenged, convicted, and encouraged me.
My dear friend Mrs. Sheila is the one who leads it and it is such a blessing to be welcomed into her home every Thursday. I don't normally read from the NET Bible, but I liked the way it translated Proverbs 31:26 "She opens her mouth with wisdom,
and loving instruction is on her tongue." That verse describes Mrs. Sheila perfectly.
Tomorrow I will be going with Mrs. Sheila and her daughter Lisa to a Beth Moore conference in Atlanta.
I couldn't be more excited!
Here are a few quotes from the Esther study that I wanted to share.
"The ability to persuade and the desire for peace can be wonderful elements in a woman and a blessing to her home when she's operating in the Holy Spirit."
"All will fall before God's throne. Blessed is he-and blessed is she-who doesn't have far to go."
"Great lives don't always seem great while we're living them."
"To live for the greatness of God is to live the great life."
"Couldn't the craving to do something great keep us from doing something good?"
"Dear Sister, one reason why a morning prayer time is so critical is because we never know when a matter is going to arise that needs our attention "at once." We don't get to deliberate about it for several weeks and study our options. If we're not surrendered to God already that day with our hearts and minds guarded by Scripture, we'll more likely react by impulse than by the Holy Spirit."
See...I told you I'd be back soon! ;)
