My New Years Resolutions.....

At the begining of the year my dad encouraged everyone in my family to write down their goals for the New Year. My dad let us put down anything we wished but he asked us to concentrate on spirtual goals or things we wanted to see the Lord do in our lives. Here is what I wrote down.

~My Goals For 2009~

*This year I want to develop a gentle and quiet spirit.
*I purpose to honor and obey my parents with humility at all times.
* As the oldest child in my family I want to lead by example.
* I want to pray more diligently for my future husband.
*I want to get into more of a routine with working my horses.
*I want to first get Candy to a western show this spring and then work on getting my English horse ready.
*Find ways to love those that are dificult to love.
*Praying for the Lord to lead in areas of convictions and to make sure that my motives are to honor Him and not myself. Sometimes when we are honest with ourselves it is easy for things to be rooted in pride.
*Working out regularly and eating healthy (which with my momma that is the easy part!:>)

Our church always has a motto for the year and this years motto is to "Put God First". In reality all of my goals are "good" things, but if we don't all purpose to put God first not much of that matters. It sounds easy to put God first, but in reality we have to purpose to die to self everyday.

I would love to hear from some of you your goals for the New Year!

I just read your goals for the New Year and I am proud of what I read. You are growing into a beautiful young lady (inside as well as outside). I will pray for you as you work toward your goals. I want to be at the horse show. Wish I could have seen "finishing my quilt"on the list. Just kidding. Love - Gran

I, too, need to work on developing a gentle and quiet spirit. Thank you for encouraging us to Put God First! May we strive to spend each and every moment joyfully serving our Lord and Savior!

With Christ all things are possible!

Hi McKenzie,

Those are great New Year's resolutions! I made two, to start running again:), and get to truly know God better this year.

Thanks for commenting on my blog! I did dye my hair darker (back to my original color) because I had put Sun-In in it during the summer and the blond was growing out. :) In the picture it is also curled, so it prob. looks shorter.

Well, I hope you have a fantastic and God-blessed day! <3, Amanda
